Terrible

Its been a long time since I’ve shared a post on my blog simply because its difficult to admit to the world that I’m knee-deep in the terrible twos and I wish I could start drinking each day at noon.

Every single moment of every single day is an opportunity for conflict with this kid. He doesn’t want to eat, he doesn’t want to get dressed, he doesn’t want to brush his teeth, he doesn’t want to wear a coat, he doesn’t want to get in the carseat, he doesn’t want to stop jumping on my bed, he doesn’t want to clean up, and he definitely does not want to take a nap.

So, what does this kid actually WANT to do?

Jump on my bed while eating ice cream in the nude approximately one hour past bedtime.

It hasn’t actually gotten that bad yet, but the scenario I just described would probably be the perfect ending to David’s dream day.

Now, where did Mommy leave her flask...?

This was so entertaining and well written, I just wish it didn't have to be at your expense. Hey, I've been there 3 times and let me tell you - 5 o'clock can't come soon enough. Just wait until the three's stage where they still throw the tantrums and add to it the verbalization of how they're feeling - then you'll be wishing for the two's again when it was just the antics.

Dawn,
Thank you so much for the comment on my blog. It is so good to know that someone understands exactly how I feel. I am trying to bring myself out of my little depression, and knowing I am not the only super boring/super busy mom helps a lot!
PS: Peanut and David would have a blast together, seeing as the jumping on the bed and eating icecream dream is basically the same for both of them! Actually, Peanut's current obsession is dog food and he sneaks into the laundry room to try and eat it at every possible opportunity. Ugh, the terrible two's!!!

This is too funny. I can smile because I have 2 teenagers and an 11 year old. Raising kids is tough at any age. Hang in there.
